View from the bridge of the MV Rothesay Castle, Ardnave Point above Eilean Beag in middle of picture.
A rare sight indeed, a close up of Ardnave Point on Islay from the bridge of a 7016 grt cargo liner. We have just updated the page on the loss of the Rothesay Castle which now includes pictures of the vessel ashore. The pictures were taken in June 1940 when the wreck was visited by representatives of W.H. Arnott Young, ship breakers based in Dalmuir. To view the additions please follow the following link Rothesay Castle
Another Islay wreck has also been updated. You can find a few new pictures of this vessel after its grounding by following the link to the Floristan.

Interested in any further information or pictures of the wreckage of the drifter Christine Rose sunk in 1941. My father was a survivor.
Thank you.
Hello George, Thanks for getting in touch. I’m afraid we have very little extra information on the loss of Christine Rose
other than what is included on the website page. We have no underwater photographs of this wreck. I have emailed you a
couple of documents from ADM files which might be of some interest. Ian Crawford
